As a ministry of the Archdiocese of New Orleans, Catholic Counseling Service provides ongoing support to our local community through affordable quality counseling with a unique perspective that upholds the richness of our Catholic faith. Understanding that each person has God-given dignity and inherent goodness, we accompany our clients on their journey towards healing and change.
Our team includes Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Professional Counselors, Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselors, and Graduate Student Interns. Each client is paired with a highly trained and skilled professional to work with their specific needs. While we operate from a faith-based perspective, we leave specific dialogue on religion and spirituality to the discretion of the client.
As a strengths-based counseling clinic, we recognize the internal strength and resourcefulness that each client brings to session, and we empower our clients to draw on their strengths to make positive changes that improve their quality of life.
Our staff is ready to work with you and/or your family through a systemic perspective. In session, you will explore the impact of family, work, community, and social environments and how these systems may serve as obstacles or support for change and growth.
Working with sensitive topics or challenging situations can draw an intense range of emotion that can be uncomfortable for clients to experience; however, the clinician is there to accompany you on your journey towards desired goals. You can expect your counselor to help you clarify your challenges, assist you to identify your unique strengths and assets, and support you while you develop a plan to better meet your needs.
Catholic Counseling Service provides counseling to individuals, couples, and families in a wide scope of practice, including but not limited to the following:
Please note: we do not work individually with children younger than 8 years of age.
