Holy Week at St. Louis Cathedral

Archbishop Gregory M. Aymond will officiate opening the observance of Holy Week at the Blessing of Palms at 10:50 a.m. April 9 (Palm Sunday) outside St. Louis Cathedral. From there, the congregation will process into the Cathedral for the 11 a.m. Mass.
 
On Monday and Wednesday of Holy Week, April 10 and 12, Mass will be celebrated at 12:05 p.m. Confessions will be heard from 11:30 to 11:50 a.m. On April 11, the Chrism Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Aymond at 10 a.m.   

On Holy Thursday, April 13, Archbishop Aymond will celebrate the 7 p.m. Mass in commemoration of the Lord’s Last Supper, followed by adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until 9:30 p.m.

On Good Friday, April 14, Stations of the Cross will be held at noon, followed by confessions from 1 to 2:30 p.m. At 3 p.m., Archbishop Aymond will preside at the Passion of the Lord, including Veneration of the Cross and holy Communion.

On Holy Saturday, April 15, Archbishop Aymond will preside at the Easter Vigil at 8 p.m., beginning with the blessing of the new fire and the lighting of the Paschal candle outside the cathedral.

On Easter Sunday, Archbishop Aymond will celebrate Mass at 11 a.m. This Mass will be followed by an Easter egg hunt in St. Anthony’s Garden behind the cathedral. Other Easter Masses will be celebrated at 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

WLAE-TV in partnership with the Archdiocese of New Orleans will live broadcast the Masses and liturgies of Holy Week, with the exception of the Easter Vigil Mass on Holy Saturday, from St. Louis Cathedral and the services will also be live streamed at http://nolacatholic.org. Plus, for the first time, the Archdiocese of New Orleans will have a live-feed on Facebook of the Chrism Mass. During the Facebook live-feed, the Archdiocese of New Orleans will be available to respond to comments and or questions about the Mass.
