God of feasting and fasting,
as we celebrate friends, family, food, and community we also recognize the many blessings you have given us.

May our Mardi Gras feasts prepare us well for the fasting and self-denial of Lent so that we will hunger more intently for you.

Form us as people of welcome, hospitality and patience with friends and strangers so that as we see the baby hidden in the king cake, may we seek you in all we meet.

Bless, us, oh Lord, and these they gifts, which we are about to receive from They bounty, thought Christ our Lord.
