This week, I am saddened that the New Orleans City Council would take action to condemn Louisiana Legislative action that protects the dignity of unborn life. Our city is built upon Catholic Christian values and a respect for all. To see the city council reject these values is disheartening.
We as the local Catholic Church will continue to stand for the dignity of human life from conception to natural death. We will continue to work towards a society where women and families have the resources they need to build a better life for themselves and their families. We will continue to work towards a culture and a community founded on the values of Jesus, which gives respect to the life and dignity of all people.
Please join me in prayer that hearts and minds will be changed towards a renewed respect for life in our city and in our world.
