NEW ORLEANS, La. – On Saturday, September 23, Gospel choirs and musicians from throughout the New Orleans area will come together for the 10th annual Gospel Music Festival sponsored by the Office of Black Catholic Ministries of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Once again this year “Gospel Fest” will be at 6 pm at the Historic Carver Theatre located at 2101 Orleans Ave. in New Orleans.
The line-up for the event includes the Archdiocesan Gospel Mass Choir as well as choirs from area Catholic Churches. Nearly a dozen choirs are expected to participate as the community celebrates 10 years of praise through Gospel music.
The event is free and open to the public, but all are invited to bring canned goods or nonperishable food items to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. The archdiocesan Office of Black Catholic Ministries is partnering with the Historic Carver Theatre Foundation and the Jazz & Heritage Foundation to present this year’s Gospel Fest.
