Upon his arrival back to the Archdiocese of New Orleans as Auxiliary Bishop, Bishop Fernand Cheri, sought grant monies to begin the Hush Harbor Retreat series. In his first year back, retreats were held for priests and musicians from the Black Catholic community. Since then a retreat has been added for deacons and their wives and in December 2016 the first retreat for those working with youth will be held. These are opportunities for ministry peers to be renewed in their work, share best practices and struggles, and learn about resources available to them.
