1) Guidance for Parish Faith Formation Programs in the Midst of Covid
* Please note: The Department of Catholic Education and Faith Formation offers the below guidelines in accord not only with Archdiocesan recommendations, but also in compliance with those set forth by the Louisiana Department of Education, the Louisiana Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control.
This is a fluid situation, so the constantly updated document, “Ready to Achieve 2021-2022: School Operational Guidance,” should be consulted frequently. Please see the link for this document as well as other important guidance listed below.
Parish School of Religion (PSR) and any other faith formation programs (for example, RCIA) that use Catholic School facilities must comply completely with the guidelines and plans laid out by the respective Catholic School. All are expected to work in cooperation with the school leader to ensure that practices and protocols are followed.

3) Catechetical Options for 2021-2022
As we continue to deal with uncertain days, we look ahead to fall and another catechetical year. A good number of parishes are transitioning away from the Traditional Model of PSR to Family Catechesis. Listed below are just a few options that you may wish to explore if you are considering such a transition in your own parish. Whatever direction you pursue, we are absolutely here to work with you.
While we plan (and hope) for onsite catechesis in our parishes, the past couple of years have taught us that we need to have alternative formats available if the need arises (including, if this is directly requested by the parents, who are the first formators of their children's faith).
Please find a number of virtual options listed below, which we would be happy to discuss further with you. Many have versions both for school and parish settings.
