Year round in New Orleans many in the archdiocese keep a prayerful presence, monthly, weekly, and even daily at our local abortion facility, to support mothers and their unborn children. Each year the fall the faithful go deeper in this ministry of presence by joining the 40 Days for Life Campaign, an international campaign of prayer and presence that is done within local communities around the globe.
In many cases the mothers who are going into our local abortion facility have never heard the hopeful message that she can indeed make a life-saving choice for her baby with loving support from the community. During these 40 days of intense prayer, there is a focused effort that each mother will know God’s love for her and will feel empowered to choose life, often in spite of dire circumstances.
