Update on St. John the Baptist Church

The April 13 issue of the Clarion Herald incorrectly reported that St. John the Baptist Church in New Orleans, a mission of St. Patrick Parish in New Orleans, has the possibility of regaining the status of a parish over the next year if it meets certain criteria for viability established by the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

However, the criteria agreed to by the archdiocese and the newly instituted Finance Council of St. John the Baptist deal only with the question of whether or not St. John the Baptist Church will remain open for regular Masses, weddings, funerals, and special liturgies.
