The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe is Thursday, December 12 this year. This is one of the most popular religious feasts among Hispanics in the United States.
Many parishes throughout the country celebrate this feast day by doing reenactments of the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe to Juan Diego, praying a morning rosary dedicated to her, and bringing her the tradi-tional “Mañanitas” with mariachi bands singing songs to praise her. Locally, the archdiocesan Hispanic Apostolate will celebrate the feast with a vigil Mass and celebration on Wednesday, December 11 at 7 pm at the
Hispanic Apostolate.
Saint Pope John Paul II declared Our Lady of Guadalupe as the PAtroness of the Americas. She is also considered the patroness of the unborn.
