Second Harvest Announces Jon J. Toups as New Interim President and CEO February 20, 2025 - Second Harvest of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana announced that Jon J. Toups will be taking on the role of Interim President and CEO. The Executive Committee of the Second Harvest Board believes Toups is uniquely positioned and skilled to lead Second Harvest through the transition as the national search for a new President & CEO continues.
Second Harvest Board Chairman Bill Hoffman said, “It is our hope that Jon Toups will bring stability and focus to the organization to maintain its very good operations. Our priority is that Second Harvest be in the best position possible for its future, the new leadership, and to fulfill its mission of addressing food insecurity in South Louisiana.”
In a prepared statement, Archbishop Aymond, who approved hiring Toups on the unanimous recommendation of the Second Harvest Executive Committee, said, “I have full faith in the integrity of everyone involved in leading the Second Harvest team. I have also heard the concerns raised amongst the Second Harvest board and in the community and want to take any actions we are able to alleviate those concerns and build trust.”
Bringing Toups in as the interim leader will also allow Dirk J. Wild to return to his position as CFO of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. He had taken on the duties of leading Second Harvest full time for the past three weeks. Wild will continue his commitment to Second Harvest’s success by assisting Toups through the leadership transition and resuming his role on the Board of Directors of Second Harvest.
Toups is a native of Napoleonville and has extensive experience in executive management and administration with large corporations. He has a reputation for driving organizations forward by optimizing organizational and administrative resources to achieve their goals through clear vision, effective and open communication, and leadership. He will put these skills to work for Second Harvest to drive the execution of long-term strategies and building on the strong foundation with dedicated and committed staff and volunteers.
Toups most recently held the role of President and Chief Operating Officer of Masterack, LLC headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia and has held executive roles at national companies LeasePlan USA and Pitney Bowes. He also served as Chief Operating and Financial Officer of the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux for two years with a specific goal of restructuring, consolidating, and modernizing the diocese’s administrative processes.
Toups will begin work with Second Harvest effective immediately.
