This week the Archdiocese of New Orleans area Catholic Schools are celebrating Catholic Schools Week with the theme "Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.” We will be sharing daily themes and the answers to #WhyCatholicSchools all week long on our Facebook and Twitter.
The annual Catholic Schools Week Mass is set for Friday, February 3rd at 10 am at St. Dominic Catholic Church in New Orleans. Archbishop Gregory Aymond will be the principle celebrant. The Mass will feature a choir of 70 children and representatives from each school will process us with a liturgical candle decorated with symbols of what makes their school unique.
The annual Catholic School Arts and Music Festival will be held at Lakeside Mall January 30th-February 4th. Student artwork will be on display and school choirs, dance teams and cheerleading squads will perform throughout the week.
