Catholic School Closure Update - 9/13/2020 at 5:20 pm
In addition to the previously announced closures of Catholic schools in Plaquemines and St. Bernard Parishes, all Catholic schools in St. Charles and St. John the Baptist Parishes will be closed Monday, September 14 and Tuesday, September 15.
Catholic schools in Jefferson, Orleans, St. Tammany, and Washington Parishes may open with in-person or virtual learning, or may close on Monday, September 14. That decision will be made by the school leaders in consultation with the Superintendent, the pastor and/or school leadership team as appropriate. Parents are asked to check their child(ren)’s school communications channels for more information.
In schools that choose to open for in-person or virtual learning on Monday, September 14, students will not be penalized for absences due to families’ plans to evacuate or take other precautions. Therefore, all absences for Monday, September 14 will be excused and will not count against students’ participation grades.
All Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of New Orleans will be closed Tuesday, September 15. Reopening announcements after September 15 will be made based on the storm’s impact to the area.
