UPDATE - Some Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of New Orleans are reopening today, Tuesday, August 25 with the approval of the Department of Catholic Education and Faith Formation. School leaders have been in touch with their school families about their reopening plans. Parents and guardians are encouraged to check with their child(ren)’s school for additional information.
Due to the forecasted inclement weather associated with Tropical Storm Marco, all area Catholic schools will be closed Monday, August 24 and Tuesday, August 25. This includes all Catholic elementary and secondary schools in Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. John, and St. Tammany Parishes. Depending on forecasts and subsequent tropical advisories, the closures could be extended. Parents and guardians are asked to monitor communications from their child(ren)’s school and the local media for information about reopening, which may vary by location and region.
